Step back

This new version is really a step back for non-native speakers.

I tried to stick with it for a few weeks, but as a non-native speaker living in Germany, the inconvenience of the introduced changes finally forced me to pull an old version from backups.

The linguee team seems to have put the focus on aesthetics and their own branding over actual usability. The app now takes longer to get into a state where I can actually look up words, because the animated Linguee logo that plays every time slows things down. Even when the app is in the background already, one still has to wait for this animation to finish. The app also loses the last word that one had searched once the app leaves the foreground. Offline use generally seems to be slower and less useful, which is a problem when I’m going through an area with spotty coverage (which is a lot of places, unfortunately).

When I’m out in the world or talking to someone, these delays really prevent linguee from being as helpful as it used to be.
Linguee team - I love your app! Please fix these issues so I can actually upgrade back to the latest version!
