As a Spanish<English translator, I use the web version of Linguee all the time. I look forward to the expansion of this app so that I and other translators like me can make use of it in our language combinations. German-English users, enjoy!

This app shows you actual examples of German / English translations culled from the Web. It also provides definitions, or examples of use with translations, of those uniquely German long compound words that are often missing from dictionaries.

I use the site all the time for French, so was interested in the app. After purchasing saw it became clear that it is German/English only. Of no value to me. Think this should be clearer since the Linguee site is multilingual.

This new version is really a step back for non-native speakers. I tried to stick with it for a few weeks, but as a non-native speaker living in Germany, the inconvenience of the introduced changes finally forced me to pull an old version from backups. The linguee team seems to have put the focus on aesthetics and their own branding over actual usability. The app now takes longer to get into a state where I can actually look up words, because the animated Linguee logo that plays every time slows things down. Even when the app is in the background already, one still has to wait for this animation to finish. The app also loses the last word that one had searched once the app leaves the foreground. Offline use generally seems to be slower and less useful, which is a problem when I’m going through an area with spotty coverage (which is a lot of places, unfortunately). When I’m out in the world or talking to someone, these delays really prevent linguee from being as helpful as it used to be. Linguee team - I love your app! Please fix these issues so I can actually upgrade back to the latest version!

Love this for its completeness! Textual examples, use for German or French reading/learning, clipboard contextual menu, history page, autocomplete and autocorrect ...great job!

This is by far the best IOS German dictionary I have found. It is very clear and provides the precise information that you need. I highly recommend it.

I use this app frequently as a reference tool with my interpretation and translation work in Spanish. Very well presented, and I like the fact that you can save or delete your history as needed.

The app does what I need. I have used linguee for years and encourage my students to do the same. I do have connectivity issues 75% of the time, even when everything else is connecting fine. It does offer offline dictionaries, but if the internet goes out for a single second, it stops downloading, and I have to start the download all over again. The offline dictionaries take close to 30-60 minutes to download. I love linguee, but the app not so much.

I use Linguee daily and find it mostly accurate. I am sometimes tripped up by the many pointers to Canadian French usage which can produce translations of idioms that are confusing if not comical to European speakers of French.

Great app. Provides relevant, succinct and educational examples perfect for a 2nd language learner !

This is the best app in terms of translation (I use German-English and vice versa). There are limitations while you are offline, but this is the best app compare to other dictionary apps out there. I use it every single day while I am working at a German based company and as a student in German course.

Its fast, accurate, detailed and extremely useful! Love it!

I have downloaded the German-English package and I cant look up new words because it will crash during the search! Closes immediately! Please, fix this! I love Linguee.

Love this app, but can only give one star for the current version because it keeps crashing even after deleting and re-downloading the app several times. Please fix this!
